On Thursday, April 7 the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) announced the 2011 inductees into their College of Fellows, among them is Lauren Rottet. This highest honor recongizes designers who have made significant contributions to the profession of interior design.

Rottet's induction at NeoCon in June brings with it an extra-special honor: she is the eight design professional and the first woman to hold the tiltes of Fellow of IIDA and the American Institute of Architects (AIA).The Rottet Studio Team congratulates Lauren on this amazing honor and wishes her continued success!

Lauren Rottet recently spoke on a panel for NEWH Student Day 2011 with internationally acclaimed restauranter (and Rottet Studio client) Philippe Schmit of Philippe Restaurant & Lounge and Joseph Bendy, General Manager of the historic River Oaks Country Club.NEWH Houston Chapter, The Hospitality Network, presented their first annual Student Day for college and university students in Houston to learn from the best in their field, as well as to broaden their perspectives on optoins after graduation. To date, NEWH has awarded more than $2.26 million in scholarships internationally to young people pursuing careers in the hospitality industry. "Fundamentally, we exist to bring industry professionals together to help raise our replacements - the next generation of design, culinary and hospitality leaders," said Josephine Duncan, president of NEWH Houston.

Rottet Studio took home the 2011 IIDA-Northern California Honor Award in the "PLAY" category for The Surrey Hotel. The project also received their "Best in Show" Award.

 Celebrated curator Neville Wakefield arranged the second fordPROJECT exhibition, Involuntary, which premiered on Tuesday, March 1. Following the opening, guests of fordPROJECT and Armory Show VIP's celebrated at The Surrey Hotel. See photos of the event here and more, here.
